On arrival at Villa Los Patios it’s hard to imagine the grandeur, scale and international level high luxury that lies within.

You enter into a typically Spanish, plant-filled courtyard of blue hand-painted ‘azulejo’ tiles, babbling fountains and cobbles underfoot.

From there, the villa is slowly revealed before you, as you move through multiple levels of painstakingly designed and beautifully rendered rooms filled with light and drama.

As you pass from one spectacular space to another you’re taken on an unforgettable journey stretching from Al-Andalus, and the very heart of old Andalucia, to modern-day Marbella and the glitz and glamour of the 21st-century Golden Mile.

 

A Dizzying Blend of High Style & High Luxe

Villa Los Patios is, on the surface of it, an ultra-luxury front-line beach villa in Marbella.

In reality, though, that doesn’t do it justice. For starters, it’s very, very big; ‘grand’ hardly begins to cover it. ‘Palatial’ is perhaps more the flavour of this superlative-shattering place.

As befits a palace in southern Spain, the interiors are a riot of Moorish-inspired swirling arabesques, geometric patterns and tessellations.

There are high, wood-beamed ceilings and gleaming Moroccan lamps in the living areas, carved bed heads and delicate shutter doors in the bedrooms and low lighting and glinting mirrors throughout that come together to channel Al-Andalus to striking effect.

Gorgeous neo-Moorish aesthetics aside, there’s nothing else that’s traditional or ‘old’ about the place. It’s all crisp, clean-lined modern luxe that’s straight out of the design playbook of a world-class luxury hotel.

Every surface and spare space is dotted with feature lamps, sculptures, ceramics, antiques and other assorted objets d’art.

Soft furnishings are in impeccable taste throughout – from the hand-woven silk rugs and the colour-themed bedspreads and cushions in the six bedrooms to the sharp patterns on display in the living rooms.

Lastly, but by no means least, the whole place is tricked up with all the necessary technology and high-comfort facilities, too. There’s a hotel-standard kitchen, an entertainment room, a fitness area, a sauna and steam room, a Jacuzzi and the latest smart home technology at the flick of a switch.

The immediate surroundings of Villa Los Patios could hardly be more Andalucian. The villa opens out onto a series of terraces and charming patios, filled with tinkling fountains, marble statues, typically elaborate blue and white tiles with bright flecks of yellow and plenty of cooling greenery.

If the premises of Villa Los Patios is firmly neo-Andaluz in style, as you head deeper into the grounds something shifts.

There’s a tropical feel to the gardens as paths wind their way through the cool shade cast by mature trees and dense undergrowth.

Down by the lush, lawn-lined pool area, tall palms rise up above a thatched tiki-style hut and sway in the breeze. Lying on a poolside lounger and gazing out to the blue sea, and the even bluer sky beyond, you can find yourself having to do a bit of a double-take to make sure you’re not in southeast Asia.

You are, though, very definitely on the Costa del Sol. The location is front-line with a capital ‘F’, with the garden opening directly out, via a secure private gate, onto the promenade that runs along the most exclusive stretch of Marbella beach.

But that international feel is very apt: as glamorous luxury beach villas go, Villa Los Patios is quite simply on a world-class level.

A discreet entrance welcomes you to Villa Los Patios, inviting you past a small sitting room before you catch sight of the vast light-filled central patio below. The central space is adorned with a huge Moroccan lamp and ceiling light which whisks your senses away to luxury Marrakech.

This impressive central patio is seemingly sunken into the ground and offers sociable seating alongside a fountain and raised cocktail bar.

To the right are living spaces of the principal master suite.

To the left is an elegant and formal, vaulted-ceilinged principal living room, from which French doors lead out to the pool with a vista to the sea.

A formal dining room adjoining the main living room has a large oval table, sitting 16, with luxurious velvet chairs. There’s a second small dining table in the breakfast kitchen which guests are welcome to use.

In addition to a smaller house kitchen – suitable for guests to make a quick snack or feed the children their supper – there’s a large, hotel-grade, stainless steel-clad kitchen that’s for the professional chefs who provide the catering service and is not for guest use.

For al fresco dining there’s a poolside pergola with an Argentinian-style grill and seating for eight people.

Sun beds and outdoor seating are plentiful. There are several private terraces off the suites, a large, plant-filled Andalucian patio with fountains in the centre of the property, and a beach-side garden with a grass lawn and flowering borders around a large private swimming pool.

Downstairs, right next to the promenade below the garden/pool level, there’s an entertainment lounge with a pool table, a large TV, a library and plenty of sofas and day beds. It’s perfect for kids to enjoy a movie in the heat of the day or catch up on a sports match.

Below the main central patio is a cocktail bar with a Jacuzzi hot tub, cross-trainer, seating area, Finnish sauna and Hammam steam room. Guests also have access to everything the Marbella Club has to offer including the spa and wellness facilities.

Bedroom 1: The principle bedroom is a blue-coloured suite on the main floor with two living areas, open fire, embroidered fabrics, super king-size bed (150 x 200cm), Jacuzzi, easy access to the spa-standard hammam and two bathrooms. It faces the sea and opens out to a seating terrace over the pool.

Comes with a vast en-suite bathroom flooded with light from a vaulted ceiling, large spa bath, shower, twin vanity and separate dressing area. 

Bedroom 2: A top floor suite with mirrored ceiling, wood carved super king-size bed (150 x 200cm) and magnificent panoramic sea views. It faces the sea and leads out to a private roof terrace over the pool. The entrance sitting room overlooking the central patio forms part of this suite.

The marble bathroom has a bathtub and overhead shower. 

Bedroom 3: A lower floor left-hand side bedroom with beige colours, a super-king four-poster bed (150 x 200cm), open fire, TV and desk.

Its marble bathroom includes a spa bath and separate shower cubicle, and a corner window directly over the sea. 

Bedroom 4: Located on the main floor next to the blue principal suite, the second principal bedroom is a coral pink suite with corner windows and access to a private terrace with full-on sea views.

The pink, marble en-suite bathroom contains a huge free-standing bathtub and separate shower. 

Bedroom 5: A ground floor twin bedroom at the other side of the house (close to the kitchen and service area), is ideal for staff or children. It forms the lower floor of a duplex suite with bedroom 6. Comes with a grey and white marble bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower. 

Bedroom 6: A smaller, blue double bedroom (135 x 200cm) that forms the upper floor of a duplex suite with bedroom 5. Comes with a marble shower room.

Daily Housekeeping

Your rental includes a daily visit from the housekeeper, usually in the mornings, plus a linen and towel change at least once every 7 days. Additional housekeeping hours can be booked and paid for directly to cover evening work such as after-dinner clearing up, or personal laundry.

Breakfast Service

Your breakfast can be laid out each morning, with assistance from your housekeeper to serve and clear away. Some light cooking may also be requested in certain villas. The food bill should be settled locally in most cases unless this is included in some of our Hotel Collection properties.
