San Roque is a small town between Jerez and Marbella and is just 15 minutes’ drive to glamourous Sotogrande.
Hacienda Vistaverde is located on San Roque Golf Course, it enjoys the climate and lifestyle of Cadiz province. Life here is low-key but high-quality, with luxury beach clubs and a yachting marina close by and unspoiled virgin beaches lined with sand dunes where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Here in San Roque as with the rest of the Costa del Sol, while it may be at its liveliest during the summer months San Roque’s very much a year-round destination. The weather is superb, with an average of +300 days of sunshine per year and winter temperatures that rarely drop much below the high teens or early twenties celsius. Perfect for hosting the world’s best Golf and Equestrian sports which take place each year.
San Roque Club is one of the best Golf Country Clubs in Europe. Here, Hacienda Vistaverde sits in the foothills of Sierra Bermeja, alongside two championship golf courses in a pleasing Andalucian atmosphere.
Hacienda Vistaverde is also close to all that Sotogrande has to offer; the marina, Trocadero beach club and with easy access to world class La Reserva Golf and Valderrama Golf. Santa Maria Polo Club is just around the corner, where the summer months let you rub shoulders with the British Royalty and the world’s horse-loving elite at the polo.
If San Roque Golf Course isn’t enough, golfers have no less than five different other courses to choose from. La Cañada and La Almenara are both excellent and suitable for high to mid-handicappers, while La Reserva, the Real Club de Golf and world-famous championship course, Valderrama, are really best left for only the most accomplished golfers.
For the non-golfers in your group there is plenty to do, hire a yacht for a days sailing, visit local towns and villages, relax at La Reserva Resort or watch polo at the world-famous Santa Maria Polo Club.
Dining out can take place in the restaurants of Sotogrande marina, or in the village centres of San Roque, Pueblo Nuevo and Guadiaro. Or you might head to one of the chiringuitos along the beaches at either side of Sotogrande for a taste of fresh fish and a cool glass of Tinto del Verano.
Only 20 minutes’ drive away you can visit Gibraltar with British shopping, fascinating history and curious inhabitants of the rock.
For a more traditional Spanish vibe head inland a short distance to explore the delightful white village of the region of Jimena de la Frontera or the castle fortress town of Castellar de la Frontera which punctuate the awe-inspiring walking route along Mr Henderson’s Railway to Ronda.
For day trips a little further afield there is Marbella & Estepona, & beachlife at Tarifa & Costa de la Luz are less than an hour away. While Tangier in northern Morocco is a mere 45-minute ferry away – book one of our guides to show you the best of it with a door-to-door service.
San Roque is just 1 hour 17 minutes from Malaga airport.
