A covered terrace area leading off the lounge provides ample shade in the sultry summer months, and added comfort is provided by good-quality outdoor sofas heaped with squashy throw cushions – the perfect spot to unwind with an evening cocktail or glass of fizz while some steaks sizzle on the barbeque.
To the rear of the villa there is a paved parking area with space for two cars, plus the second of the property’s two private entrances. Also to be found in this area is a charming mural made from the traditional Andalucian tiles, along with flowerbeds overflowing with lavender and herbs, and tall cypress firs stretching up into the blue skies above.
Villa Romero offers a spacious, open-plan lounge with a large cream sofa and coffee table, plus two straight-backed wooden chairs facing the fireplace. Additional seating is provided by the breakfast bar and three accompanying stools, meaning whoever is in charge of cooking can enjoy some company in the kitchen.
There is also a small, private living room adjoining bedroom three, complete with an L-shaped sofa facing two coffee tables. Outside the villa on the large covered terrace, there is an outdoor living space with a wicker sofa and soft white cushions. With a view of the pool and courtyard, this is an idyllic spot to get stuck into a good book or doze in the shade.
The kitchen at Villa Romero is a large room with plenty of surface space – including a substantial central table made of wood – so makes an ideal stage for an interactive cooking class or wine tasting, with plenty of room to spread out with several pots and pans on the go.
This fully stocked kitchen also offers a range of professional-grade equipment, including a large stainless steel Aga, electric hotplate, dishwasher, Krups Nespresso machine, wine fridge, oven and Smeg kettle, toaster and blender.
Family meals can be enjoyed at a large dining table with six chairs, set in a windowed enclave off the lounge where two magnificent banana trees stand guard in heavy terracotta pots, their glossy green leaves brushing the ceiling.
Outside on the covered terrace, there is also a large stone BBQ and a seating area with a family-sized table and six chairs (more can be added as required), meaning you can take advantage of the warm summer days and enjoy your meals in the open air.
