Marbella’s Golden Mile is one of the most exclusive areas in Spain. This beautiful stretch of Mediterranean coastline starts at El Piruli de Marbella (the Copper Tower) on the western side of Marbella’s town centre and connects to the bustling marina at Puerto Banús. Our range of hand-selected villas to rent on the Golden Mile have been carefully curated to offer you the highest level of luxury and an unforgettable experience… and that’s just the beginning!
Gateway to a 5-star experience
As you travel down the palm fringed Golden Mile you’ll be struck by its impeccable streets and beautiful hotel facades. The most notable landmark (and original celebrity hotspot) is the Marbella Club Hotel. Launched in the 1950s, this hotel completely transformed the area into the special place it is today.
Later, it was joined by the 5-star Puente Romano Beach Resort which has recently undergone extensive renovations and offers a superb range of restaurants, bars, beach clubs, boutiques, tennis club, golf, sailing and much more. Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd’s gold and marble palace (a replica of the US White House) sits opposite the Puente Romano resort. In fact, many of the Golden Mile’s facilities were originally conceived to cater for the large royal entourage of the Saudi Arabian royal family.
Beaches on the Golden Mile
Marbella has around 23 beaches spanning 28 kilometres coastline and the Golden Mile is considered to have some of the most beautiful golden sandy beaches in the area. The Golden Mile really lives up to its name, as its Blue Flag beaches are blessed with wide flat golden expanses of sand, dotted with sunbeds, shades and other amenities. You are never far from a beach club, delicious cold drink or the crystal-clear water.
At the heart of the Golden Mile, you’ll find our favourite beaches: Playa de Nagüeles, located in front of the Puente Romano is extremely family friendly due to fine sand and shallow water. It also has the added benefit of a dramatic backdrop of Marbella’s iconic La Concha Mountain. A short walk further along the promenade will bring you to the wonderful Playa Casablanca which is close to the MC Beach (Marbella Club Hotel beach club) and the Trocadero Playa. Of course, these are just two of the many beaches … there are 21 more to explore!
Party in Puerto Banús
The Supper Club (formerly La Suite), Buddha Bar and the iconic Olivia Valere are all must-do venues if you feel like partying in style. The Golden Mile is also ideally placed for easy access to Puerto Banús famous for its beautiful marina, super yachts, designer stores and high-octane nightlife.
The Golden Mile started out as an exclusive leisure destination for European royalty and their famous friends, and today it still holds the crown as one of the most luxurious and highly sought-after destinations in Spain, which consistently delivers the much-coveted luxury Mediterranean lifestyle.
The all-year round sunshine and wonderful natural landscapes provide the perfect opportunity for outdoor activities, sports and leisure. You have easy access to everything from world-class golf and tennis, water sports, hiking, cycling, horse riding, sailing and polo (Sotogrande is 30 minutes by car).
If you prefer less structured forms of exercise, nothing beats a jog or a stroll along the beautiful paseo maritimo, or even a swim in clear blue Mediterranean Sea. Alternatively, pamper yourself with a treatment or spend a relaxing day in one of the excellent Spas and wellness centres…after all you’re worth it!
That said, there is nothing stopping you from heading further inland. If you like a dramatic mountain-scape, head to the Alpujarra Mountains or Sierra Nevada to indulge in some beautiful walks, mountain biking and skiing during the winter months.

Every type of cuisine is available from beachside chiringuitos serving up the freshest seafood, to Michelin starred tasting menus, making this stretch of the Mediterranean coastline a winner for food lovers.
Renting holiday villas on Marbella’s Golden Mile makes it easy to self-cater or hire one of our private chefs, but just as easy to go out to eat, as this relatively short stretch of coastline has a high concentration of restaurants within a short distance.
Marbella stalwart, Villa Tiberio has been a long-standing crowd-pleaser and worth a visit to see the beautiful Italian garden, but head a little further west to Puente Romano Beach Resort and things really go up a notch.
There are more than 20 restaurants, allowing you to eat and drink your way through a world of flavours. Highlights include the Japanese and Peruvian flavours of Nobu (which has just introduced a takeaway service!) and Italian delights of the Venetian institution – the Cipriani.
As if this is not enough… Málaga born Michelin starred chef, Dani García’s presently offers Kamuri, Lobito del Mar, Tragabuches, Leña and BIBO within the Puente Romano and nearby.
Just a few minutes’ walk east, the Marbella Club Hotel offers a range of eateries and bars, such as The Grill (renowned for its silver service) or Rudi’s for a cocktail or glass of champagne.
Heading towards Puerto Banus you’ll find Victor’s Beach guaranteeing great sea views and seafood! You should also try the Trocadero Playa, Besaya Beach and the Italian designer brand Fendi has recently opened its first chiringuito in partnership with the Puente Romano.
Add to this the many cafes and bars in Puerto Banus. There’s a great choice of international flavours, from Italian to Indian. You pay a premium, but nothing can beat the backdrop of the water glistening in the marina and super yachts gently swaying with the tide.
Marbella and in particular the Golden Mile is synonymous for luxury, so it is no surprise that there is an impressive selection of top designers and luxury boutiques in the vicinity. You can find anything you desire, from beautiful understated luxury items such as cashmere clothing at Malo to hand made knitwear and suits from Brioni. Or perhaps you would like to choose a piece of exquisite designer jewellery, in which case you can pop into Anil Arjandas.
There are also plenty of opportunities for some serious retail therapy in Puerto Banús. The choice of high-end fashion houses is out of this world, you’ll find everyone from Escada to Versace, Christian Dior, Hermes and Louis Vuitton. Mid-range designers like Michael Kors and Guess are well represented, as are the big-name Spanish fashion chains such as Zara. Should you wish to give your credit card a real workout, there is also a large branch of the Spanish department store El Corte Ingles just a few minutes’ walk from the marina. And don’t worry if your interest leans more towards architecture, bespoke interior design or art, you will not be disappointed…
