Occupying the best lot on the block and surrounded by palatial private homes, Villa Chanya has the luxury finishing that is so typical of Sotogrande.
This spacious and bright villa enjoys 280-degree views of the surrounding countryside from its elevated position in the exclusive Sotogrande Alto estate. While eagles circle the open skies right in front of you, immaculate golf fairways edged with soaring firs unfold before the sparkling blue Mediterranean sea. The distant coastline of Morocco adds a special touch to the sunset vista.
Inside the property, there is an overriding sense of space and light, starting with a double-height entrance hall featuring bespoke artwork. A clean and minimalist decor helps the house’s free-flowing design, and the spectacular views are displayed to full effect thanks to the inclusion of picture windows and glass doors.
Despite its impressive size, Villa Chanya is a property designed with family in mind. A contemporary living room dominated by a huge 10-seater sofa offers plenty of space for large groups to relax in, and the expansive outdoor terraces feature family-sized dining tables seating up to 14 (plus children) guests. Elsewhere, the plush home cinema with pool table is a fun hang-out spot for film nights, while the huge kitchen with its professional-standard equipment is ideal for group cooking, or bringing in one of our private chefs while you can relax with a sundowner on the terrace!
Villa Chanya’s trademark simplicity extends to the property’s extensive exterior spaces. The gardens are minimalistic in style: featuring manicured lawns forming a half-moon around the 17m-wide infinity pool, bordered by cypress trees and rockeries filled with low-maintenance succulents, palms and lavender bushes.
A thick screen of fir trees prevents the house from being overlooked and ensure the gardens enjoy optimum privacy. A conspicuous lack of nearby neighbours also means the grounds are an ideal setting for a garden party or intimate wedding, without having to worry about keeping the noise down during the day.
Beyond a thick carpet of verdant treetops, the panoramic view expands: dun-coloured mountains running in folds to meet the dense blue glitter of the Mediterranean sea. This impressive vista is best enjoyed from the wraparound ground floor terrace – preferably at sunset with a glass of something chilled in hand – or through the large feature window of the lounge on cooler evenings.
Villa Chanya’s spacious ground-floor living room contains a large, 10-seater modern sofa facing a TV and powerful Bose music system. The room also offers a second seating area comprising three quality leather armchairs, angled in front of the huge picture window with sea views.
The lounge in turn opens up onto the panoramic terrace with dining space, or leads through to the formal indoor dining room, or into the kitchen-diner, further enhancing the sociable layout of the villa.
The spacious kitchen at Villa Chanya is ideal for professional chefs, and catering staff will be treated to incredible views as they work.
Culinary professionals will appreciate the high standard of equipment at Villa Chanya, including a cooking island with induction hob, lava stone grill, steamer, ovens, microwave and food warmer.
The kitchen also benefits from an additional prep space with staff access from the side of the villa, complete with a large 6-ring gas cooker and oven.
For outdoor dining, Villa Chanya also features a brand new Broil King gas grill – ask about having one of our chefs coming to BBQ while you relax.
Besides the spacious family lounge, guests at Villa Chanya can choose to relax in the home cinema with projector, screen, plush seating and pool table. Movies can be played via the house entertainment system, which has access to Netflix, Sky and Amazon.
Outside, Villa Chanya’s terraces are arranged with sun loungers and communal seating areas where the whole family can unwind and admire the spectacular view.
The 18m infinity pool has full-length steps for easy access and provides a blissful hangout spot. The lack of close neighbours means guests need not worry about excited children making a splash, or turning up the tunes as they soak up the sun.

The principal bedroom is located on the top floor, leading out to the wide, wraparound terrace with panoramic views from mountains to sea. Features super-king bed (180cm), large snuggle seat, vanity unit and walk-in wardrobe. Luxurious en-suite bathroom with creamy butter-yellow marble, step-up Jacuzzi bath and separate shower.

A large bedroom-suite on the lower ground floor with king-size bed (160cm), sharing the en-suite bathroom of bedroom 7 – best suited to staff or teens.
Your rental includes a complete clean and linen change every 7 days, plus additional light housekeeping in 2 visits during the week (housekeeping does not include kitchen clear-up).
Additional housekeeping hours may be available to book and pay for in advance to cover things like after-dinner clearing up, extra linen changes or personal laundry.

Every booking includes around 3 hours of itinerary planning before you travel (more complex itineraries can be organised for a fee to cover extended hours). Leisure time can be divided between the rolling golf fairways and pristine polo pitches that the area is known for, or spent strolling the colourful marina or relaxing on golden sanded shores in one of the town’s upmarket beach clubs.
