Villa Kianga strikes the balance between high-end design and homeliness. It’s an undeniably modern house – as sleek and gorgeous as they come - but the owners have managed to personalise the space with carefully selected pieces, without ever cluttering its gorgeous layout. I loved the hand-tooled Andalucian door, mounted on a wall in the garden, and the African beer basket in the living room – its little touches like this which make a house feel like a home.
From the moment you step inside you’re aware that every detail has been finished to the highest standard, with great care and precision. I loved the artwork from Namibia in the bedrooms especially, a different shot from the same series of images succeeding in subtly differentiating the rooms.
Special mention goes to the incredible clock in the breakfast room: more an art installation that a timepiece, it's easily one of the coolest design features I’ve seen in a villa.
And then there’s outdoor: the sumptuous sofas in the garden seating areas mean chilling outdoors is just as comfortable as relaxing inside. I can only imagine how beautiful the sunsets are over the rolling golf courses, with the Mediterranean Sea glistening in the background. And if you ever fancy a change of scenery, the fact that the world-class facilities of the Finca Cortesin hotel are only walking distance away adds that extra touch of luxury.

Casares is a quiet, low-rise destination ideal both for families wishing to explore the local towns and villages and enjoy days at the coast, and also for groups of friends on golfing holidays, as it is also close to several other golf courses including Estepona Golf and Casares golf. There are also plenty of things to do in Estepona as well as Marbella and Puerto Banus.
