Welcome to Villa Kynthia

Sumptuous interiors and jaw-dropping views

Step through the characterful Andalucian door, and into the spacious comfortable home that is Villa Kynthia. The enchanting entrance hall houses a minstrel-style gallery and radiates a graceful sense of space that sets the tone for an entire home.

It is this casual sophistication that echoes throughout Villa Kynthia. The golden Spanish sun streams through French doors and oversize windows, splashing light over every level of the house and gardens, which begins at the lower-level bodega, with its antique table and stocked wine cellar, and soars up to the penthouse-style principal suite level.

Recessed lighting and tray ceilings illuminate the living and dining rooms, which blend in a seamless dance of open plan living. Plush seating and cream-colored sofas encircle the living room’s wood-burning stone fireplace, a cosy invitation to sit down, relax and enjoy your family. In the dining room, a wrought-iron chandelier overhangs the antique table, which beckons long conversations and laughter over Andalucian delicacies and Spanish wine.

The principal suite is the epitome of this fine villa. Sprawling over the entire upper floor, this opulent retreat combines an elegantly styled bedroom and dressing room. Travertine marble scales every surface of the bathroom, criss-crossing dual sinks, a large shower and corner tub, and designated nook for spa treatments. Just off the bedroom, your private terrace overlooks remarkable vistas. On the same level there is a ample private office with two desks and lots of natural light.

The view here is more than just a pretty backdrop. It is the centrepiece of Villa Kynthia; a sight as impressive and beautiful as the house itself. At your feet sit 280º of the most stunning views in Andalucia: rolling Marbella countryside and golf courses, the blinking lights of the coast, the majestic Sierra Bermeja mountain, and the sparkling Mediterranean coastline, its gentle waves stretching over the sea and south to Morocco and Gibraltar.

Terraced gardens and a wonderful pool with views

When you arrive at the sprawling Villa Kynthia, it’s immediately obvious that the view is unbeatable: stretching as far as the eye can see, an incredible 280º panorama sweeps over golf courses and sun-splashed Andalucian countryside, skimming the Estepona Mountains and the coastline of the New Golden Mile before tumbling into the Mediterranean. The seascape touches Gibraltar, Morocco and the coastline of northern Africa.

Yes, this view is unbeatable. And yet, Villa Kynthia is up to the challenge.

Sitting close to the Hotel El Paraiso, the villa’s spacious outdoor areas centres on the refreshing infinity pool, its cerulean blue playing complement to the manicured garden’s deep green foliage and jewel-hued blooms. Three levels of established terraced gardens with painted arbours in white wisteria, a lush lawn and walls full of climbing bougainvillea make for a peaceful place to steal away.

From the dining room and living room doors open onto the main terracotta terrace. It offers sun, shade, sun-loungers to soak up the rays, the infinity pool, wraparound sofa in a covered terrace and outdoor BBQ and dining area: all facing those fantastic views. Pool heating available for a small supplement.

An Argentinean asador, or grill, and ample outdoor seating invite you to dine al fresco. And as the sun goes down, a glass of Spanish wine in your hand, one thing is sure: you won’t want to head indoors for supper. Or ever.

Enjoy the local area

Villa Kynthia sits in El Paraiso, overlooking the stunning hills and mountains that reach towards Estepona, and views that extend to Gibraltar and the coast of Africa. This is a desirable, leafy, residential suburb of Estepona, though in reality, you are closer to the chic beachside town of San Pedro with its family-friendly boulevard and excellent eateries.

There are also some fabulous local restaurants located a mere five-minute walk from the villa and slightly further afield in Estepona itself, perfect for mixing up evenings when you don’t feel like staying closer to home.

Where Marbella offers glamour and refinement, the area surrounding Estepona and San Pedro has become the destination of choice for visitors looking for understated luxury. The surrounding lanes to Villa Kynthia are home to multi-million pound mansions, so you are in very good company.

If you fancy a walk, there are a couple of restaurants just a few minutes’ walk from the villa, and the nearest commercial centre with more restaurants and a supermarket is about 1km away, which takes about 12 minutes. The nearest beach at 2km away takes about 20 minutes making use of the footbridge, but there are also many fantastic options within a 10-minute drive from the villa in either direction.

Further along the main road is the pretty town of Estepona, or try heading inland to Benahavis village, known for its cluster of restaurants and chef training schools: definitely worth exploring for an evening meal out.

This location offers peace and tranquillity, yet you are never too far from the beach action and excellent dining options of the Estepona and Marbella coastline.

Estepona is a traditional whitewashed town with plant filled balconies and pretty squares. There is a marina a short drive or e-bike ride from the centre of town with bars, restaurants and yacht hire too. Comparing Estepona and Marbella centres you’ll find Marbella to be a little grander (and busier in the summer months), whereas Estepona has its own Spanish charm and a makes for a pleasant day out.

In the centre of Estepona meander through several pretty squares like Plaza de las Flores, visit the orchid house and venture down to the marina. Just outside Estepona visit the Dolmen of Corominas (five prehistoric burial buildings) and don’t miss exploring the Sierra Bermeja mountains via Jeep tour or cycling or hiking. If you’re a fan of leisure cycling, then the coastal path leading east and west from Estepona is very rewarding too. For children Selwo Zoo is very popular with it’s wide range of animals and hands on experiences.

El Paraiso is: -
10 minutes’ drive from Estepona centre
5 minutes’ drive from San Pedro de Alcantara
Less than an hour away from Malaga and Gibraltar airports
15 minutes' walk is El Paraiso Golf Club – a Gary Player designed championship course
