Two-part living room: one section in the summer room, where you’ll appreciate magnificent views, and the other in the family area with a flatscreen TV. The living room is outfitted in colonial style, with very comfortable seating in beige linen; perfect both for hot summers and chilly winters.
There is ample room to gather together, or to carve out a quiet spot to snuggle in with a good book and a glass of wine. The living room has exceptional panoramic views that sweep over the green hills and mountains, extending toward the northern African coastline.
There is a secondary lounge on the ground floor. Please see Relaxing (below).
Villa Kenia offers two dining areas, one inside and the other outdoors. In warm months, you’ll gravitate to the shaded pergola, where a long table and huge wicker chairs provide seating for up to 14. A Silverline professional BBQ is yours for the barbecuing, although we’re happy to book you a chef so you can avoid the scorching hot work!
The indoor formal dining room offers seating for 8, and is decorated in a light seaside theme. The dining room has views to the pool and sits adjacent to the kitchen, which is classically styled with cream units, black granite worktops, a choice of gas or ceramic hobs, and fully equipped appliances (coffee maker, hand blender, ice maker, kettle, cafetiere, toasters, etc.).
Breakfast may also be taken on the smaller terrace (seats 6), where a clear day affords views of the surrounding hills, the sea, and the African coastline. The housekeeper will lay out your breakfast, six days a week.
The pool takes pride of place in the garden, accessed via grass lawns, with poolside seating and panoramic views to the mountains. Swimming pool heating is also available for cooler months. The shady pergola by the pool is an ideal spot for evening cocktails; for a peaceful afternoon, the interior Moroccan patio is a welcoming retreat.
The villa’s landscaped gardens are gorgeous, blending Andalusian tiles, old stone walks, an old well and fountain, then looping around past a gently flowing waterfall that leads to the pool, gardens and multiple terraces with plush seating areas. A gazebo stands at the end of the garden, offering the perfect vantage point to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy panoramic views that extend to the sea and beyond to Africa. Moroccan lanterns light the way for alfresco summer evenings.
Sun loungers surround the 8×5-metre pool. A shaded pergola sits adjacent, housing the outdoor dining room.
Indoors, the games den is the entertainment hub at Villa Kenia. It is decorated in kid-friendly colours and accoutrements, with comfortable floor cushions, an enormous sofa, and a 55″ flatscreen linked to Internet TV. (Plus British outlets, so you can bring your favourite electronics from home.) The den offers a pool table, table football (foosball), and a selection of family games.
