The first things to hit you in Villa Solise are the huge glass windows that let the sunlight come flooding in. The light dances on the cool grey marble floors, and a stunning spiral staircase takes centre-stage, a work of art in itself.

Not only is Villa Solise high on Scandi-style chic, but it also comes fully-loaded with tech: the living room has inviting sofas and a 65-inch wall-mounted TV with international channels, so you’ll always find something in your language. As you step out to the terrace and garden, even there you will find clean, modern lines. When night-time illumination lights up the outside space, this looks spectacular.

The kitchen is as sleek as you’d expect from a villa designed by Norwegian owners, while being cleverly compact. You’ll find a huge side-by-side fridge-freezer complete with ice machine, a larder handily ready-stocked with essentials, as well as a steam oven, teppanyaki cooktop and smoothie machine. You have the choice of eating in the kitchen, or outside on the terrace, overlooking the pool.

On the top floor, the master bedroom is light and spacious, and faces the sea with its own balcony. It feels sumptuous but homely, with throws, cushions and an elegant chaise-lounge in a palette of olive and champagne, 42-inch TV, plus an en suite shower room with glass cubicle.

In addition there are three further bedrooms: one twin in neutral shades with a newly upgraded en suite shower room and private terrace overlooking La Concha mountain; and two more on the lower ground floor.

One of the lower bedrooms has an exquisite carved wooden headboard, hanging lamps and Moroccan vibe and 55-inch TV, the other is finished with a soft grey, feminine theme.

These rooms share a bathroom – ideal for children, or children and a nanny – with chic, matt grey-coloured micro-concrete walls, featuring twin sinks, bathtub and separate shower. All bedrooms have first-class mattresses for premium sleep quality, and cosy rugs on the floor.

The villa has eco-conscious heating and cooling systems so you’ll be comfortable in every season, and the whole villa is controlled by a Domotic home automation system for complete ease of use.

The gardens of Villa Solise have, like the interior, been designed with the environment in mind. The outside space is serene with a Zen-like feel, thanks to the wood decking, smooth white gravel and dry-loving plants such as exotic cactus and aromatic rosemary.

The garden is walled, ensuring complete privacy, while the views from each of the five terraces are spectacular. Each offers a different perspective, too, from the poolside decked area with its Buddha statue, and the living, dining and bedroom terraces, to the rooftop eyrie with 360 views of leafy Nagueles and a vista of the sparkling Mediterranean beyond.

On a clear day the view to the front reaches to Morocco’s Atlas mountains, while behind the villa towers La Concha mountain, whose grassy slopes and granite peaks subtly change colour throughout the evening.

Contemporary white furniture in each area provides the opportunity to eat or relax, with the thoughtful addition of a shower on the roof to cool off after soaking up the southern Spanish summer sun. At night, mood lighting creates an enchanting, magical atmosphere throughout the garden.

The main living space on the ground floor is an open-plan layout leading to the dining-kitchen area; the main sitting room opens to a relaxing terrace, and down to the garden and pool. There is a new 65-inch TV with international channels.

The dining-kitchen area is on the ground floor and has indoor seating for 8, leading out to an additional outdoor terrace with extendable table for up to 10 guests, overlooking the pool.

The private pool runs alongside the house and there are sunbeds right next to it, as well as on the roof terrace on the top floor. The pool measures 13.5 m long, perfect for morning laps and can be heated for a supplement, with an eco-cover fitted.

On the first floor, the main bedroom has a terrace with sea views, and the rear twin bedroom also has a spacious terrace, this time with views to La Concha mountain.

The main terrace off the living room is furnished in an Ibiza style, perfect for evening cocktails with friends, while the roof terrace has seating and sun beds with views to the sea.

There are a total of 4 bedrooms:

First floor principal bedroom: with 180cm super king-size bed, en suite shower room, leading to a balcony with sea views

First floor guest room: with king size 160cm bed and new en-suite shower room, and a private terrace looking to the mountains

Lower-ground floor guest room: with king size 160cm bed, sharing a full bathroom with bath tub and shower

We can also provide two additional beds for children on request in the lower ground floor guest room.

Light Housekeeping

Your rental includes a complete clean and linen change every 7 days, plus 2 additional light housekeeping visits during the week (housekeeping does not include kitchen clear-up). Additional housekeeping is available and payable locally and you also have a property manager who can arrange additional services and staff.

Villa Solise is exactly as a small luxury villa should be, and it’s perfectly suited for a single family, or to up to four couples sharing. Location-wise, it’s perfect for enjoying the best of Marbella’s fine restaurant and boutique shopping scenes.

The layout also means two families can share with plenty of space and comfort; indeed, one of the guest bedrooms was designed for children and all ages are welcome. Supervision may be needed with toddlers, though, as there are a number of balconies around the villa.

Villa Solise is located to the west of Marbella in the leafy, luxury suburbs of Nagueles.

A gentle 15 minute walk will take you to the upmarket area of Marbella’s Golden Mile, lined with designer shops and bordered by sandy beaches, and it’s just a couple of minutes’ drive to the glamorous port of Puerto Banus.

In Marbella you’ll find something for all tastes – from world-class cuisine and characterful tapas bars, to designer labels and local brands, via beautiful beaches and breathtaking mountain walks.

For eating out you’re spoiled for choice at Villa Solise: within a 2km round trip there’s everything from Michelin-grade dining at the likes of the Hotel Puente Romano or Melia Don Pepe, to stylish out-of-town hot spots like Finca Besaya. Along the beach there’s a mixture of family run “chiringuitos” serving up the fresh catch of the day, while chic beach bars like the Ocean Club offer gourmet cuisine with a taste of the Mediterranean.

For down time, take a stroll around the boutiques of Marbella’s old town and stop for tapas near Orange Tree square. Or you can easily visit typical white villages further along the coast, like Mijas and Benahavis, or smaller harbours like Cabo Pino and the original fishing village of La Cala for a really Spanish vibe.

Situated on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, Marbella is famous for its glitz and glamour, but there’s also no shortage of things to do nearby with Spanish culture and charm. There’s even more slightly further afield to tempt you in the rest of Andalucia.
