Book a spa day before the holiday? Or enjoy a spa day during your trip? That is the question.

While prepping for the holidays, it’s tempting to have a spa session or two to get your body smooth, relaxed, beach-ready and primed for the perfect tan. But the LVC answer has always been before AND during.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy on a luxury holiday in Spain, but we highly recommend planning a trip to a day spa as part of your itinerary. And glamorous Marbella is the perfect place to find a luxurious spa where you can relax and get pampered for the day, before returning to your villa to enjoy an unbeatable night’s sleep.

If you’ve been seeking inspiration for the ultimate Marbella spa day, this guide will take you through some of our favourite recommendations for planning a day of indulgence.

The Best Day Spas in Marbella

Firstly, you should know that when we visit spas in Spain, we absolutely do not mess around. We have very high standards. The overall experience is the key.

Our criteria include everything from expecting a beautiful spa area, relaxing mood and serene facilities, seamless service, divine products, world-class expertise and intelligent spa treatments. We want a holistic approach with perfect relaxation areas that invigorate the senses, recharge your energy levels and balance your mind and body.

We’re also only looking for spa day experiences, so we’re not fussed about hotels that offer accommodation or overnight packages. After all, as far as we’re concerned, there’s nowhere better to relax than one of our luxury villas!

We’ve whipped up a wonderfully indulgent pick of the best of what’s on offer around the city. So here’s our pick of the best day spas near Marbella that fit the bill…

1. Marbella Club Thalasso Spa

Thalasso Spa is part of the Marbella Club hotel as part of their wellness offering, and has day packages for non-guests who want to come and enjoy the luxurious facilities. Alongside fitness and nutrition support, the spa focuses on thalassotherapy, which involves the use of seawater, sea products, and shore climate in treatments.

We’re all about bathing in the goodness of seaweed at the moment and love the way Thalasso Spa uses what Marbella has in abundance with its coastal location. It’s one of the best spas in Marbella, making use of this natural ingredient. There’s also a seawater pool, hammam steam baths and a wood-burning Finnish sauna.

We Love: The Intensive body treatments, which include body wraps and a specific-to-your-needs massage.

Point of Difference: A Mediterranean view seawater indoor pool – seriously, it’s wonderful.

Who’s It For: Single girls’ spa day treat

Address: Bulevar Principe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, 29600 Marbella.

Enjoy facials, massages, manicures and pedicures, a hydrotherapy pool, a cold plunge pool, experience showers, an herbal steam room and a sauna, all set in a beautiful facility. You can also experience authentic Hammam treatments combined with massages, enjoying a blend of eastern and western spa techniques.

We Love: The Vitamin C and Papaya Enzyme Peel 50-minute Facial. You’ll feel like you have new skin and fine lines diminished.

Point of Difference: The Signature Senses Facial by QMS Medicosmetics has been developed exclusively for Puento Romano Six Senses Spa.

Who’s It For: Everyone. This is one of our all-time favourite day spas in Marbella with a wonderfully calming feel that is great for groups, frazzled mothers and couples.

It’s some of the best service you’ll experience in spas in Marbella, combined with an Asian-inspired treatment menu that delivers authentic approaches to wellness.

We Love: Treatments involving Biologique Recherche, Tata Harper and Hand Made Beauty.

Point of Difference: Thai massages and a very attentive team to serve you.
