Villa Vivante is a genius work of modern architecture, designed by Alfonso Alzugaray, this 5-bedroom villa sleeping 10 adults offers minimalist luxury in a spectacular setting. With private elevator, wall-to-wall glass for spellbinding Atlantic views, a striking infinity pool, and chef’s kitchen filled with the cookbooks by the owner.
The team at Villa Vivante take care of your breakfast and housekeeping, so you can enjoy boutique hotel-style service in your own private villa.
Centrally located on the Costa de la Luz, Villa Vivante is an appealing choice if you want to discover the best of Cadiz. A land famous for unspoilt beaches, Moorish whitewashed villages, cliff top coastal walks, Jerez sherry, and the route of Almadraba tuna.
The pared-back design of Villa Vivante allows the stunning Atlantic views to take centre stage from this 5-bedroom cliff-top villa.
The interiors have been stripped back so the dramatic scenery can be fully appreciated; watch the sun rise in the east, and set in the west, from the 280º panoramic viewing terraces with infinity pool and sea-facing suites.
Natural, earth-toned interiors bring a clear connection and respect for the natural scenery, while interior elements, such as clay tiles, oak floors, concrete and sandstone walls are complemented by mid-century style and furnishings.
Villa Vivante is all about harmonious living with earth and ocean.
DISCREET VILLA WITH WIDE-OPEN VISTAS across THE ATLANTIC OCEAN
The villa is accessed via a private funicular lift from the garage, and as you ascend, you start to understand how spectacular the setting of Villa Vivante is; discreet and private, thanks to its elevated position between two of the best beaches in Cadiz.
Set over two floors, every room opens to a viewing balcony or terrace and the main living-dining area features wall-to-wall glass windows which open to a cliff-edge balustrade balcony.
The chef’s kitchen has enough cook space and everything you need for a culinary adventure, including a bodega filled with wine, cava, organic oil and vinegar.
All the bedrooms have ocean view private terraces, super-king-size beds and you’ll find a water stocked mini bar in three guest rooms.
Although Villa Vivante is perfectly placed to explore the Costa de la Luz, for those days when you want to stay indoors there is a well-equipped fitness room and a movie/reading snug to enjoy.
FREEDOM, salty sea AIR & ADVENTURE
Set on a headland, the outdoor space is expertly carved into the rock face, with sheer drops which give you the sensation of hovering above the ocean and bring a touch of adventure and ‘life’ to Villa Vivante.
The Atlantic coastline will certainly cast its spell on you here, with terraces on every level giving 280º degree views of the coastline, with wild virgin stretches of white sandy beaches and undulating countryside.
Swim up to the edge of infinity pool as it meets the ocean horizon. The summer dining terrace by the pool seats six guests, and from here, there’s no better place to watch the incredible sunset with a pre-dinner aperitif.

We are unable to accept children under 12 and we do not recommend this villa for guests with a fear of heights due to the design of the architecture.
Villa Vivante is an absolute feat of modern engineering! In all my years of visiting villas, I've never before arrived in a panoramic lift cut through rocks to reach the entrance! Steps are available, but the elevator is fun so why would you bother?
The villa occupies an enviable position jutting out over rocks that are as old as time, yet the brand new structure blends in perfectly - I loved the deep ochre and rust colours, tactile concrete walls and natural materials which mimic the surrounding landscape, and seamless hidden doors take you from one space to another.
Once inside, wall to wall glass curtains place the uninterrupted views of the Atlantic ocean at centre-stage, hats off to Architect Alfonso Alzugaray, and the owner considerately bought the land to the west, just to ensure the view will never be spoiled.
As a guest you are treated to hotel-style service levels, such as breakfast served daily, private gym, mini bars and a bodega; these are the little touches that make your stay here just that little bit extra special.

Guest Experience Feedback
I just wanted to tell you what a great evening we had last night. Emilio provided a fantastic selection of excellent wines and presented them to us in a very knowledgeable and interesting way. The food that followed was excellent and as intended gave us an insight into local food; compliments to the chef. Service from Francisco was very professional and made for a relaxed evening for us all.
I cannot recommend the team more.
Thanks so much for organising it for us.

Guest Feedback
Everyone really enjoyed our stay at Villa Vivante.
The view from the villa is breathtaking. The steep garden is beautifully planted and well maintained. The kitchen of course was a real pleasure to cook in. There was literally everything you could possibly need to cook and dish up any meal.
The local team could not have been more helpful. Preparing breakfast each day for the 10 of us; delicious. They also left us ‘light bites’ just before they finished every day. There are many nice and homely touches; candles to light excellent toiletries etc making the whole experience more like a glorious house party. It is also rare to find five such good sized bedrooms. Making the villa ideal for our group of 4 grown children and their wives and partners.
The wine tasting and local supper you guys organised for us was a real highlight.
We had been to Zahara before and love the area. The beaches and beach bars are close by and unspoilt. A visit to Cádiz a must and if you have time Medina Sedona. But this is by far the best villa we have rented.
The team at Villa Vivante are on hand to take care of your every need with daily housekeeping, continental breakfast prepared for you daily and light cooking if required. Enjoy a hotel experience in this stand-alone Costa de la Luz villa.
Runs like a Boutique Hotel but we have it for exclusive use.
Daily breakfast service, price included in the rental.
Daily light housekeeping.
Linen change twice weekly.
Location within 10 minutes’ drive of Zahara de los Atunes with restaurants and shops.
If you want to discover the authentic personality of Andalucía: to admire its natural beauty, savour the region’s exquisite gastronomy and understand the passion and pride for the region that every Andaluz wears on their sleeve, Cadiz delivers on all levels.
From white villages to endless beaches, Cadiz is the best kept secret in southern Spain and Villa Vivante enjoys the perfect location to discover everything it has to offer.
Situated in Urbanisation Atlanterra on the border between Tarifa and Zahara de los Atunes on the Costa de la Luz, Villa Vivante enjoys an almost equidistant position between the Cadiz-Malaga border to the east, and magnificent Cadiz city to the west.
There are a smattering of hotels, restaurants and mini supermarkets in Atlanterra itself, however you’ll want to head to Zahara de los Atunes (9 mins) for a better selection of amenities.
Zahara de los Atunes is a family friendly destination renowned for unspoilt beaches, laid-back atmosphere and as its name suggests (Sahara of the Tuna), the famous Almadraba Red Tuna (Ruta del Atun).
Where, neighbouring Tarifa is renowned for its bohemian vibe and eclectic nightlife, Zahara de los Atunes has taken a step back, choosing a more subtle approach to life which is more seasonal in nature. The town is petite but well-populated in summer with restaurants (in town and on the beach), cafes and bars.
If beach days are an essential part of your holiday, Villa Vivante and the Costa de la Luz won’t disappoint. The villa overlooks two unspoilt beaches – Playa de los Alemanes to the east, and Cabo de Plata to the west.
Whilst Playa de los Alemanes is almost virgin-like with few visitors; Cabo de Plata which merges with Playa Atlanterra and onto Playa de Zahara is a popular water sports beach and has a couple of good beach restaurants dotted along the way. The nearest access from Villa Vivante is across the road and down the steps, or you can take a flatter route, walking along the roadside pavement and cutting across a pathway system adjacent to the beach to reach Zahara.
The Costa de la Luz, or Costa de Cadiz at it is also known, is famous for its Californian-esque beaches, and you’ll be able to visit quite a few within a 30-45 minute drive.
Our Cadiz destination guide gives you a taste of what to expect during your visit to the region. From its most splendid beaches and famous Moorish whitewashed towns, such as Vejer de la Frontera; to its love affair with Jerez (sherry) and spectacular beauty and rural charm.
The nearest airports to Villa Vivante are Gibraltar International Airport at 86kms (1hr 29 mins) and Jerez Airport at 105kms (1hr 22 mins).
