Comfort, Convenience & Lots of Space

Villa Gauguin is a place that was built with convenience firmly in mind. But it also doesn’t come with any of the other associated cons that often come with that tag.

Aesthetically, while it’s not a design villa, it’s big and bold – handsome in a muscular, imposing sort of way.

Inside, it’s comfortable, inviting and homely, with all the necessary facilities and enticingly slouchy seating areas.

Most of all, though, it’s deceptively spacious. It’s a place that’s clearly been designed for families and groups who want to spend a holiday together, without being in each other’s pockets every second of the day.

Wherever you look there’s a little bit of space to call your own. The pool is lined by well-spaced loungers and the house is ringed with seating areas. Many of the large en-suite bedrooms even come with their own private terraces.

Which means that, as well as spending time together with your nearest and dearest, you can catch some rays in peace away from the kids, or lie back with a book and a drink on your own for an hour or two.

Special Spaces – Unforgettable Memories

Villa Gauguin on a summer evening is a picture of what a luxury holiday villa should be like.

Lying on a poolside lounger looking out, the shadows lengthen across the fairways at the end of the garden.

Behind you, two tall palm trees sway and rustle in the remnants of the Atlantic breeze that rolls in from the Straits of Gibraltar.

At one end of the pool candles flicker by the entrance to the pool house; at the other end, members of the party sit under the shaded pergola and chat as they lay the table for dinner.

Go inside to pick up something from the kitchen and you’ll pad barefoot across cool, grassy lawns and past banks of fragrant lavender.

As you head inside you pass the other members of your group. They’re sitting out on the terraces, drinks primed, and watching as the sun slowly dips into the sea in a blaze of oranges, pinks and reds.

It’s a genuinely special moment – of the sort that cherished holiday memories in Spain are made.

The main living room is a formal and elegant affair with French-style pale gold sofas that comfortably seat 10. It opens out onto a large terrace which wraps around the house offering panoramic views and lots of light.

The second living room is a far more relaxed family lounge on the top floor. It comes with a large TV, card/games table and a huge terrace looking over the countryside to the sea. There’s a small bar with a fridge to keep the kids fuelled up while kicking back and watching a movie or two.

The third main living space is downstairs in the basement. It works well as another kid’s zone, being adjacent to a large bedroom which could house 3 or 4 beds for older children/teens to enjoy their own space.

The indoor dining room is a pleasant space with French doors opening out to the terrace, and handily sits right next to the kitchen for easy service. It comes with a large, dark wood table and 10-12 chairs.

The breakfast room is in the large dining-kitchen. Here there’s a breakfast table seating 6, a small rattan sofa and TV screen, ideal for kids’ breakfasts or a quick snack.

The very large, modern kitchen is decked out with blonde wood units and granite worktops. It’s very well equipped with a Gaggenau gas cooker, large oven, Nespresso, dual fridge-freezer and ice maker. Just outside on the terrace is a gas Outback BBQ for al-fresco dining.

The villa opens directly out on to extensive, well-kept gardens, immaculate lawns, a large private pool and several levels of terraces and wide staircases to maximise the ‘drama’ of the outdoor space.

A shaded gazebo dining area shares space poolside with sun beds on the terrace and magnificent far-reaching views to the sea.

In addition to the gardens, the villa’s home to a couple of great spaces for children: one TV lounge on the top floor, and a home cinema with tiered leather seating in the basement.

There’s also a small gym area in the basement with multigym and weights.
