There’s much more to Villa Cristi than initially meets the eye. While on the outside it’s every inch the grand, traditionally styled Marbella home, inside it comes with a chic interiors twist to its tail.

Equal parts stylish and sybaritic, with more than just a dash of old-fashioned indulgence in its facilities thrown in for good measure, it’s swathed in lush tropical gardens with a to-die-for pool at their heart. To cap it all off, it's got an A-list, golf-friendly Nueva Andalucia location, too.

Welcome to Villa Cristi

There aren’t too many luxury villas near Puerto Banus that are quite as inviting and homely as Villa Cristi. Sleeping a family of 14 in 7 bedrooms, it just ticks all the major boxes for a high-class holiday home on the Costa del Sol. Full deck of facilities? Check. Perfect pool area? Check. Style in spades – inside and out? Check. And check.

The bedrooms stretch away, one after the other, in a variety of chic looks. Life here, though, really revolves around spending time outdoors: with an open plan kitchen/living room opening out onto a terrace of shady seating and dining areas and a beautiful garden, the ground floor feels more like an enormous summer house.

Days can pass by in a blissful blur of inactivity: breakfasts on the terrace; lazy, sun-soaked days stretched out in a horizontal position; long, cool evenings dining by the light of the moon while listening to the cicadas chirrup.

Then there’s that pool. It’s a gorgeous, curvy affair that slips in seductively amongst the tropical plants – and it can be mighty tricky to escape from its clutches over the course of a week or two’s holiday.

It’s a flexible sort of place, too. The basic layout and facilities make it ideal for large families. Setting-wise, though, it falls firmly in the ‘triple L’ (location, location, location) category. The shops, bars, restaurants and greens of Aloha and Nueva Andalucia are literally right on the doorstep, with Puerto Banus itself only a little further away, so it’s also perfect for groups of friends looking for an indulgent break or style-seeking golfing groups.

where stylish interiors meet ultra comfort

The first thing that’s immediately apparent when you set foot in Villa Cristi is that a coherent and compelling vision has been applied to the interiors.

To tie in the surrounding gardens, there’s a clear channelling of the botanicals trend. Verdant palm trees and leafy fern fronds pop up regularly in the toile de Jouy that runs throughout the soft furnishings. Bamboo ladders double up as towel rails, and there are plenty of rattan and wooden furniture pieces; even the four-piece mirror in the dining room has fronds of greenery creeping up it.

It’s in the seven bedrooms, though, where a steady interiors hand is perhaps most apparent. These are dotted with chic touches, from beachy wood panelled or bold coloured feature walls and asymmetrical headboards, to copper pendant lamps and vintage-style LED filament bulbs.

The colour palettes used draw heavily from Messrs Farrow & Ball, running through from gentle olive greens, pastel peaches, calming greys, creams, ivories and beiges to bolder reds and greys. Plush soft furnishings in peacock-blue velvet and rich pinks complete a tactile, textured effect.

But while it’s all very stylish, it also doesn’t take itself too seriously. There are plenty of light, playful touches such as a pair of lamps made up of a monkey holding a light bulb and another climbing up a rope.

your own private tropical paradise

It’s probably fair to say that Villa Cristi is not a place where you’re expected to spend too much time cooped up indoors.

The indoor/outdoor layout downstairs positively implores you to install yourself somewhere between the kitchen, the sizeable shaded chill-out area of low seating, dining spaces and whirring ceiling fans and the rows of sun-soaked loungers. To one side, a further seating area with wrought-iron chairs and a table sits in the ample shade cast by a huge white parasol.

Beyond that, a lush, tropical garden stretches away. Here, tall palms sway in the breeze and exotic Bird of Paradise flowers peek out from amongst the ferns, catching the eye with their vibrant splashes of colour.

At the heart of the garden, and indeed the villa, is a pebble-floored, walk-in, lagoon-style swimming pool. You can swim up to the large Jacuzzi or waterfall feature, put your front crawl through its paces, or simply wallow in the shallows to cool off. However you use it, it’s the centrepiece of a spectacular garden – and will almost certainly be amongst the highlights of any stay.

Collections featuring this villa

The gardens contain a tropical pool with fountains, waterfall and a Jacuzzi which is close to the house; they’re also safe, self-contained and well kept, making it easy to keep an eye on the kids.

For family sleeping arrangements, the 7 bedrooms are spread out over 3 floors. A large basement lounge is ideal for extended families with older kids looking for a large games/leisure zone. It’s family heaven, basically.

This villa also backs onto another villa in our Collection, so if you’re a group of several families travelling together you could enquire about taking both properties on adjacent streets.

Enjoy the local area

You couldn’t mention Villa Cristi without at least touching on its stellar location. Because, in the upmarket residential estate of Nueva Andalucia to the west of Marbella, it covers all bases.

On the convenience side, the airport is just a 45-minute drive away, while shops and supermarkets are within walking distance – or a very short car journey.

From a leisure standpoint, the bars and varied, top-class restaurant offering of Nueva Andalucia and Aloha Pueblo are a short stroll away; front-line Puerto Banus with its beaches – and bouncing beach clubs – is less than 5km from the villa.

Some of the Costa del Sol’s finest golf clubs are also right on the doorstep: Aloha Golf, Los Naranjos and Las Brisas, Magna Golf and La Quinta are just a few minutes’ drive away.

For eating out, you have the full array of international and top-class cuisine that Puerto banus is famous for, not to mention the front-line dining looking out over those beautiful yachts. El Corte Ingles department store is within easy reach, and in the port you can shop designer labels to your heart’s desire.

For a different day out, you can easily visit typical white villages like Mijas and Benahavis, smaller harbours like Capo Pino and the original fishing village of La Cala for a really Spanish vibe. Families also love the new Boulevard at San Pedro; a kilometre-long park with play areas, cafes, skating zones and summer events well worth a visit.

Situated in on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, Marbella is a resort known widely for it’s glitz and glamour, but for those to choose to explore the area you will find plenty of Spanish charm, culture and character . The resort is renowned for its sunny climate that puts the ‘Sol’ in Costa del Sol, and here we have mile upon mile of beaches, white villages, bustling shops and breath taking scenery, making it an ideal holiday destination for families and groups of friends alike.

In Marbella you will find something for all tastes, from world-class cuisine to characterful tapas bars, from local produce to designer labels, and from beach to breathtaking mountain walks.
