Bohemian chic with a one-of-a-kind feel
Open the door to Villa Bali; an eclectic villa that blends island cool with bohemian chic, Spanish architecture and rustic French charm
Beamed ceilings, tropical artwork, whitewashed interiors, and arched doorways greet you. And always, French doors that open onto the home’s characteristic bamboo gardens, palm trees and Buddha statues; a diverse and homey charm that gives Villa Bali a one-of-a-kind feel.
Villa Bali’s main home, which spans 600 square metres and 4 bedrooms (a master suite + 3 additional guest suites), extends through to six more individual ‘Casitas’ with private access. Each casita measures a spacious 40 to 100 square metres and features one bedroom, en-suite bathroom and private patio. Some also have an additional living space and sofa beds for children. As a whole, the property offers 10 suites, and a unique layout that is well suited to multi-generational families, several families travelling together.
The main home’s living area forms the heart of the villa; a gathering space that surprises like a photo-shoot from House and Garden Magazine. (Not surprising, as Villa Bali has been featured in several interior magazines!) Beamed ceilings frame huge white sofas, which in turn ring a large fireplace, bordered on either side by built-in bookshelves packed with novels, travel magazines, glossies and every kind of coffee-table book imaginable – no TV required! And that’s fitting, since we’ll only outfit Villa Bali with TVs in your room, leaving the main living space for focusing on each other.
To round out the perfect gathering spot, you’ll find a Buddha-adorned centre table, lit with candles and offering a collection of local information designed to guide you during your stay. The alcove’s grand piano completes the scene for a perfect evening at home, cosied up around an open fire with friends and family or out on the sumptuous summer deck overlooking the saltwater pool.
The villa’s boutique dining room bids you good-morning with a coffee machine and daily continental breakfast. In summer months, the room opens onto the veranda for breakfast al fresco. Next door, the vintage-styled kitchen offers an antique farmhouse vibe and is well equipped to cater to large groups: whip up feasts yourself, or ask us to arrange a private chef. Villa Bali is the owner’s own home, so you will find everything you could wish for ready at your disposal.
When it comes to the villa’s airy bedrooms, each is lovingly styled by Villa Bali’s French owner and is as unique as the paintings she has created to decorate each space. Among other décor delights, look forward to delicate French touches, private outdoor gardens, the odd four-poster bed, myriad reading nooks, and terracotta floors, all in a zesty colour palate of limes, corals, and turquoise on a crisp, white background.
Facing the sea it hides an oasis of escapism
Villa Bali resides in one of the most established and luxury urbanisations in Marbella, just minutes from the Golden Mile yet completely secluded from urban worries.
Tropical leafy gardens with towering palms abound, and the entire area faces the sea, where the glittering Med stretches south toward the golden shores of Morocco.
Your first glimpse of Villa Bali is like discovering a secret garden: tall privacy walls conceal lush courtyards with soft grass, and flowering bougainvillaea and blue plumbago that tumble over pergolas. Behind these walls, hides an oasis of escapism – a sparkling saltwater pool, relaxing terraces and sun-drenched loungers shaded by billowing white curtains. In a word, it’s paradise.
Enter through an interior patio, its roof a summer explosion of tangled blooms. A statue of Buddha, gurgling water features and small seating coves welcome you immediately. If that’s not enough to set the scene, the main home’s spacious terraces, beckoning hammocks, giant palms and lovely slopes of La Concha mountain round out the ambience.
The villa’s garden features an enormous expanse of lawn, dotted with tropical and Mediterranean blooms and bushes – a true masterpiece from one of Marbella’s greatest landscape architects. Balinese daybeds sprinkle the view, which is undeniably spectacular, but your eyes are inextricably drawn to first the Mediterranean and then the large pool, the social centrepiece of Villa Bali.
Cool saltwater invites you to dive in for a refreshing swim in the 15 × 10-metre pool, surrounded by more palms, exotic plantings and a generous smattering of sun loungers. Songbirds trill from every tree and the villa’s own aviary, their melodies harmonizing with the whisper of a breeze and the pool’s gently lapping waves.
