Hacienda El Palacito is well deserving of its regal title, a noble family estate steeped in history covering more than 8 private hectares. This refined Malaga holiday home embodies Spanish elegance spanning generations.
Featuring 6 bedrooms, a private pool, gym and a huge, soundproofed nightclub in the grounds, Hacienda El Palacito functions both as a luxurious holiday rental and unique location for high-class events.
The approach to Hacienda El Palacito assures you that is no regular villa: A sweeping drive arriving at ornate iron gates and an imposing periphery wall, behind which, the tops of century-old fir and palms float against the sky.
A mere 5-minutes from the A7 road and 20-minutes from the city of Malaga, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were entering the grounds of a royal estate.
As the gates slowly swing open, the full magnificence of Hacienda El Palacito’s grounds are revealed: emerald green lawns unfold, terraced gardens lead the eye toward the mountains, trickling fountains burble amongst marble statues, and romantic arches are entwined with flowers.
Beyond this, the glimmering expanse of Mediterranean Sea, with luxury cruise liners outside Malaga port seeming close enough to touch.
And then there’s the house itself: a handsome example of Spanish colonial architecture, with its steeped terracotta roof, glistening white paintwork and ivy-wreathed façade. The charm of Hacienda el Palacito is difficult to define, somewhere between a fairytale castle and a regal retreat, the villa stands as an emblem of Spain at its most luxurious.
Hacienda El Palacito’s regal air extends beyond its impressive façade, with interiors that pay homage to ‘old Spain’ and cherish the family story.
Guests are presented with eclectic array of gorgeous antiques, traditional marble floors, hand-crafted furniture and lavish fabrics.
Unfolding around a central Andalucian courtyard, the first floor of the property comprises a large, sun-filled living room, rustic farmhouse kitchen and traditional dining room with a cathedral ceiling.
Across the hall, a mahogany-panelled office and reading room exudes classic elegance, its sumptuous red velvet sofa framed by walls of bookcases.
Bedrooms are distributed over two floors, including an impressive principal suite with private balcony and luxurious adjoining bathroom with intricate gold detailing and a sunken jacuzzi tub.
Despite the stateliness of its rooms, the interiors of Hacienda El Palacito retain a homely feel, thanks in part to an abundance of natural light. The ground floor is edged by walls of windows, framing within them far-reaching views of impeccable lawns, soaring palm trees and fountains, all set against a backdrop of dense blue Mediterranean Sea and sky.
ECO-CONSCIOUS HAVEN for WILDLIFE
Comprising acres of meticulously maintained ornamental gardens, the grounds of El Palacito are home to a thriving collection of wildlife, including black squirrels, deer and wild boar.
In homage to its natural surroundings, the estate takes its eco-credentials seriously: the property features a colossal reservoir, fed by ancient springs, and nurtures a wide variety of trees such as olives, carobs, acorns and firs, with the owners pledging to plant 50–100 more trees per year in an effort to enhance the surrounding eco-system.
Those wishing to celebrate a wedding in the grounds of Hacienda El Palacito would find themselves spoiled for choice for photo ops!
Scattered throughout the estate are numerous picturesque corners: flower gardens, fountains, vine-wreathed archways and orchards of protected trees all providing a dreamy backdrop for an intimate moment.
Celebrate in Classic Spanish Style – with a twist
For all its old-world charm, Hacienda El Palacito is not afraid not embrace key aspects of modernity. The lower ground floor of the house features a spacious, air-conditioned gym, complete with free weights, top of the range NordicTrack equipment and an inbuilt sound system.
And then there’s the night-club: situated on a separate plot beyond the main house, the 250m2 entertainment space has capacity for up to 250 guests, making it an ideal venue for product-launches or luxury events.
Oozing style and sophistication, the club features mirrored walls, overhead spotlighting and boasts a top-tier system and fully integrated speakers. Located next door is a fully equipped commercial kitchen with private access, ideal for professional caterers.
The family-sized living room at El Palacito is enclosed between walls of French windows which, when open, allow a refreshing sea breeze flow through the space.
The living room is classical in style, with marble floors and a large open fireplace, an intricately carved wood and glass coffee table spread with books and trinkets. Two oversized, comfortable cream sofas are flanked by armchairs, making it a cosy space for family get together and pre-dinner cocktails.
From the sofas, one can see either into the traditional Andalucian interior courtyard or out onto the rolling garden, edged by glimmering Mediterranean Sea.
Hacienda El Palacito’s charming, farmhouse-style kitchen is located on the ground floor of the property. Finished in terracotta and dark wood with traditional tiled floors, the kitchen features an electric hotplate, Krups Nespresso machine, fryer, Rosiers fridge/freezer with integrated icemaker, wine fridge, dishwasher, double oven and extractor fan.
Alongside the kitchen, Hacienda El Palacito’s dining room exudes timeless elegance. Enclosed between two walls of window, the dining table offers seating for 12 in regal, high-backed chairs. Meals taken in this room are also accompanied by a magnificent view of ornamental fountains and sparkling sea.
For al-fresco dining, a full Argentinian BBQ located alongside the outdoor pool is perfect for impromptu grilling sessions with spectacular sea views.
Hacienda El Palacito’s serene location encourages disconnection: leave your phone at home and stroll the ornamental gardens on the lookout for black squirrels darting amongst the trees.
Take a dip in the soft water pool with views over the sea or work up a sweat in the fully-equipped gym before relaxing with a cool drink on the patio, lulled by the splash of the fountains and the trill of birdsong in the trees.

I’ve been living ten minutes down the road from Hacienda El Palacito for nearly five years, and had no idea such a spectacular villa was virtually on my doorstep!
You can really feel the love and dedication that went into creating this property – it’s more than just a house, it’s a passion project that tells a story. All around the grounds there are personal dedications to the owner’s family – a statue of their much-loved butler, who has been in service for over 20 years, and plaques in the garden dedicated to their children. Personal touches like this really bring a house to life for me.
It’s difficult not be impressed by the sheer scale of the villa: the gardens alone are a work of art, so vast that I was unable to get round them on one visit. Inside, it’s like stepping back in time into the house of Spanish aristocracy: the antiques, the polished marble floors, the wooden panelling and the vast fireplaces…just stunning!
But this is a house that’s moved with the times, too: the gym on the ground floor adds a nice modern touch and I’ve honestly never seen anything like the nightclub – I can only imagine the amazing parties you could throw down there – especially with that state-of-the-art lighting and sound system!
The show-stopping grounds of Hacienda Palacito provide an impressive backdrop for any wedding or product launch, with capacity for up to 500 guests for a seated dinner.
The estate is designed to host large events with minimum impact on the property’s interior: an expansive, paved terrace opening off the ground floor offers the perfect space for a standing cocktail with sea views, while the soundproofed nightclub in grounds was made for late night parties and can host up to 250 guests.
The property also features a commercial kitchen for caterers and sprawling parking lot with room for 85–90 vehicles.
Hacienda El Palacito is the ideal choice for anyone looking to experience authentic Spain. This handsome house was lovingly designed by its former owner and exhibits a range of architectural influences such as Canarian balconies and Arabic arches, combined with baroque interiors and a handsome Colonial-style facade.
Only a short drive down the hill, the beaches of Malaga await, with their thriving beach bars and seafood restaurants. The closest, El Palo is one of Malaga’s most iconic beaches. A no-frills, vibrant Spanish neighbourhood with family-friendly beaches and charming local restaurants.
The heart of the city itself is only a taxi-ride away, where you can while away the afternoon sipping cold beers on sun-dappled squares, exploring art galleries or browsing the artisan shops of the old own, before returning to peace and quiet of your private estate.
Malaga’s gastronomic scene is an eclectic blend of tradition and modernity. Historic bodegas such as El Pimpi continue to serve up classic tapas while beachside chiringuitos focus on local dishes such as espeto de sardinas, but international cuisine is also increasingly well represented. Fine dining is also an option, with the city home to not one but two Michelin starred restaurants – Juan Carlos Garcia’s sleek port side eatery and the understated yet stylish Kaleja, tucked away in back street beside the cathedral.
A short stroll along the sea front from El Palo leads you to the trendy, bohemian neighbourhood of Pedregalejo: a favoured Saturday afternoon hangout spot for discerning Malagueños with its range of cool cocktail bars and international cuisine.
A mere 20-minute drive along the motorway lies Malaga. Having undergone something of a metamorphosis in the previous decade, Malaga is fast-shedding its reputation as a fly-in-fly-out beach mecca and becoming one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities in Andalucia.
The birthplace of Picasso, the city boasts a treasure trove of art in its museums and open-air galleries, while the charming old town is dotted with Moorish architecture and contains many a buzzing square and lively local market.
Malaga is also known for its excellent weather, characterised by long, hot summers and mild winters. With over 300 days of sunshine annually, the city enjoys warm temperatures and clear skies throughout the year. Summers bring average highs around 30°C (86°F), perfect for beachgoers and outdoor enthusiasts. Winters are mild, rarely dipping below 10°C (50°F).
Such a temperate climate makes Malaga an ideal year-round destination, just as apt for a Christmas getaway as it is for a weekend beach break.
